BALLET - is the basis of all dancing. It requires concentrated and repetitive study and demands a high level of self-discipline. Poise, grace, and coordination, along with music appreciation, are accomplished through proper ballet training.
POINTE - is an advanced form of ballet. Students are put on pointe only after extensive ballet training and then only with teacher approval.
LYRICAL- is a form of dance which encompasses both modern, jazz and ballet techniques and is performed to contemporary and classic vocal music.
TAP- is the only type of dance which is native to America. Tap training develops rhythm and coordination as well as improving the ability to think and react spontaneously.
With proper training, tap is also beneficial in developing creativity.
JAZZ - has been defined as “stylized theatrical dancing” based on many other forms of dance and influenced by American jazz music. It is the predominant form of dance used in the American Musical Theatre . It is usually performed to, but not necessarily limited to, the popular music of today.
HIP HOP - is a form of dance that began as street dancing
and has evolved into a genre of its’ own. It is very athletic and energetic
and done to current hip hop music.
MODERN - modern is a dance style that focuses on a dancers own interpretations instead of structured steps. Dancers reject the limitations of classical ballet dancing and favor movements derived from the expression of their inner feelings.
ACRO - emphasizes the combined beauty of dance and acrobatics. The combination of dance, tumbling and partner skills make acro very unique. Acro will enhance the student in many ways including: physical strength, flexiblity, agility, balance, and grace.
GYMNASTICS - This class has an emphasis on teaching proper stretching techniques, shoulder flexiblity, strength training and core tumbling skills: rolls, cartwheel, round-offs, handstands, backbends, limbers, front and back walk - overs, back hand springs, layouts, standing tucks and so on. Elite has a full size matted floor, air mat and all the basic equipment for both boys and girls gymnastics programs. Elite practices Saftey 1st!
CHEER - cheer combines most elements of dance and gymnastics.
Focusing on jumps, stunting and tumbling.
Performance Opportunities - Students are invited to perform in the annual dance recital in May. Our dancers and gymnast are also frequently invited to perform for various groups in the area.
All of Elites programs require the utmost in team working and goal setting. This is a comprehensive program offered year round. Programs are all offered on a recreational or
competitive level ages 3 to adult.
